May 31, 2007 - Curing Kids' Cancer donated $110,000 to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Clinic at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

The money was raised through the 2nd Annual AT&T Curing Kids' Cancer Golf Tournament hosted by Franklin Langham. The Aflac Cancer Center will use the money to help fund research into new treatments for childhood cancer.

Langham, a PGA professional, was on hand to provide expert instruction to the golfers. Lee Corso, ESPN's college football analyst and honorary chairman of Coaches Curing Kids' Cancer was among the players at this year's tournament.

“The doctors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta continue to make progress in their battle against pediatric cancer,” said Grainne Owen, founder of Curing Kids’ Cancer. “We hope this donation will bring new cutting-edge treatments from the laboratory to the patients.”

Grainne and her husband Clay created Curing Kids’ Cancer after losing their nine-year-old son Killian’s to leukemia in 2003. In addition to special events, Curing Kids’ Cancer has two national grassroots programs – Coaches Curing Kids’ Cancer and Teachers Curing Kids’ Cancer. Both programs urge children to donate money to pediatric cancer research in the name of their coach or teacher rather than buying gifts. Details of the programs are available at www.curingkidscancer.org.
